Bayham Hall was built in 1870 by George Trollope. The property occupies an elevated position in the midst of the 1000 acre Bayham Abbey estate. With gardens landscaped by Humphrey Repton, a Norman bridge, 13th Century Bayham Abbey Ruins and a picturesque becalmed lake.

With ruins from an abbey founded in c1208 including parts of the old church, cloisters and gatehouse

Apparently Bayham Abbey in Sussex is haunted. Some visitors have reported hearing the sound of monks singing and chanting as if in the distance. They say that the music only lasts for a few seconds before fading away. --spooky!
