Bleaklow Hill, Glossop, Derbyshire.

A Mr Don Bryans of Midlands Air Crash Research reports the following

. Don writes, "A sighting on this remote stretch of moorland has been the apparitions of two RAF crewmen, who were involved in a crash here on 29 August 1941. The aircraft, a Boulton Paul Defiant nightfighter, of 255 Squadron, RAF hit the hillside whilst flying from RAF Turnhouse (near Edinburgh) to Hibaldstow (Suffolk). The crewmen, Pilot Officer James Craig, and his gunner, AC2 George Daniel Hempstead (who, incidentally was the pro golfer at Boston Golf Club, Lincolnshire), both survived the crash, but were badly injured, and later died from their injuries and exposure. The aircraft and its crew remained missing for over a month and was discovered by chance. They allegedly appear when weather conditions are misty or foggy, and have been seen (and heard) by numerous hikers over the years. Normally, a shout of "Help"! is heard, when the call is answered, and the site is approached, two figures can be seen, momentarily, one standing, waving, and one seated, apparently unconscious."

East Kirby Airfield, Lincolnshire.

Also Don Bryans of Midlands Air Crash Research tells us the following . Don writes, "An airman, wearing WW2 flying kit, has been seen walking towards the control tower, dragging his parachute. He was killed when his B-17 crashed. Strange lights have also been seen in the control tower itself."
