More on the subject of death and injury: An American newsreader called Christine Chubbock shot herself in front of the cameras some years ago. When her notes were checked they revealed that she had allowed time in the schedule for her death, so that other programs would not start late. A Parisian grocer was jailed for two years in 1978 for stabbing his wife with a piece of hard cheese. A husband who strangled his wife because she kept waking him in the night to ask him to help her with the crossword was acquitted on the grounds of temporary insanity.

The law is another rich source of humor. In Minnesota, it is illegal to hang men's and women's undergarments on the same line. And in Indiana there was once a law prohibiting people from traveling on buses within four hours of eating garlic. To this day it's illegal to have a nude dummy on display in New York, and in Arizona, it's illegal to hunt camels. And if you live in California you can't buy a mousetrap without first getting a hunting license.

VIENNA - Burglars in Vienna opted for a speedy getaway after they found eight severed human heads when breaking into the basement of an apartment building, Austrian police said Friday.

A dentist had stored the mummified heads, which he used for research, in a chest in the basement. Burglars stumbled upon the collection when they broke in, police said.

"The burglars were looking for loot when they discovered the heads," said a spokeswoman for Austrian police. "From what it looks like, they just left them lying there and bolted away."

Austrian authorities said they were investigating whether there had been a breach of the regulations for storing research materials.

Americans Spend 40 Minutes A Week Deleting Spam
NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) -- Wonder where all your time went? Into deleting your unwanted spam e-mails.

According to a new study by McAfee Security, 49 percent of Americans spend at least 40 minutes a week just deleting spam -- and 14 percent spend at least 3.5 hours at their terminal terminating the unwanted e-mails.

In addition, the average person deletes their spam about 30 times a week -- but are lucky to have sex two times every seven days.

Finally, you may think you're getting too much sex-oriented spam but they only constitute 27 percent of the messages, while 57 percent deal with credit counseling or refinancing.
