Leeming

Ghostly world war 2 airmen wearing full flying kit have been both seen and heard at the airfield at Leeming which can be well seen from the Great North Road . During world war 2 the airfield was a bomber station . There is meant to be a storage shed at the remote southern area of the field where the bombs where stored during world war 2. Near to this storage shed there used to be a mound of earth which was once concealing the wreckage of aircraft that came to grief at Leeming. It is close to this shed, and where the mound used to be that is said to be haunted by wartime aircrew.
