Pengersick Castle, Praa Sands - cornwall

Many ghosts are associated with Pengersick Castle and its grounds, one of them haunts the main bedroom of the castle. A Young Woman has been seen late at night around and on the four poster bed. It appears from investigations that she is in alot of pain she has been seen looking out of the window of the bedroom then walks towards the bed where she lies down clutching her stomach, this is usually when the ghost disappears.

Another ghost that has been seen in the castle bedroom is of a Black Dog once a visitor to the castle was sitting close to the fireplace of the bedroom and he was shocked to suddenly see a black dog with red eyes standing there. It wasn't long until the ghost of the dog disappeared as quickly as it came.

Another restless spirit is of a Ghostly Monk in a long hooded robe, he has been seen in the grounds of the castle particularly in the forest situated at the end of the mediaeval garden. reasently i was told while a gardener went about his duties one day he suddenly felt something brush past him, he then suddenly smelled insence. All the classic signs of a monk!. People always feel asthough they are being watched here too.
Currently renovations are taking place which has caused many more monk sightings on the grounds.

In the forest very old structures have been found and local archeologists have been working on finding out what the structures are. Including an old Chapel, old glass has even been found from the windows of the chapel and are now on display in the castle. Other structures are an old round house and some supposed graves have also been found.
