Four blocks West of this pc a strange quirk of human nature took place. A sixth grader wrote Remember Pearl Harbor on the school's sidewalk found 7/12/39. He was mad at his teacher. Only one question here. Have you heard of this story? Plus comments if you have the time.
This local legend is never spoken about here. It's never brought up in the coffee or pizza shops. Many aren't aware of Bobby's chalk message. Most would be indifferent about it like we all were in late 39, in 40, and most of 41. Over the years there's been plenty said in magazines, SCI-FI TV shows, and radio. All mostly inaccurate in the accounting.
This is a prophectic chalk prank that never will amount to anything but the coincidence or God wink (SQuire Rushnell) that it is.
Sometimes there's a fine line between coincidence and fate!
Before the release of the new Pearl Harbor movie I talked to an AP reporter. I suggested AP look him up in Cincinnati, Ohio USA for a first hand accounting from Bobby who is 77. She seemed interested and hadn't heard it. So much for her interest; she dropped the ball
My cousin, the late actor Robert Lowery, was the radar operator in the documentary that accompanied the Pearl Harbor 2 tape set sold in the US. It is narrated by actor Fritz Weaver.
I doubt US war films like this are shown on UK television. Here, our History Channel will always show our need to correct the world's repeated historical blunders usualy of the religious idealogy /political /military kind. This unprovoked attack on the United States of America and the Free World had very many un-heeded warnings. I beleive this local legend is another Pearl Harbor warning seldom heard or correctly told.
Pearl Harbor's U.S. Naval Base 7th Fleet Commander Admiral Husband Kimmel was born and raised 35 miles from here. Kimmel is a familiar name from this town also. "When God winks" about coincidence was penned by New York City author SQuire Rushnell.

We remember that and the other tragic things around the world. Just say about the 2 world wars and then we can remember all the people that have died in the world.

Too many countries stood off to the sides back then. Watching for a winner to possibly determine their own fate. This is not a war or political theme to this thread. It is a paranormal side all the way.
Fate locked our two countries together at Pearl Harbor, Honolulu, Hawaii, USA and it was not a US state back then.
Off to work now as vacation is over

CC,
I'll move this thread in honor of your return. It totaly amazes me how long a story like this can sit so silently at a paranormal web site! Man O man!

Was it prophetic or just an urban legend that never really happened at all?
Our Town Clerk-Treasurer recently received an interesting letter from a man who lives in Maryland who wondered if a story he read about in two separate books really did happen in a small southern Indiana town.
Thomas R. Shreck of Salisberry wrote the incident in question allegedly happened 66 years ago - exactly two years before the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor - which unfolded on December 7, 1941.
The incident is described as follows:
"The message scrawled in paint on the sidewalk in front of the public grade school in Indiana, was, townsfolk thought an aggravating bit of vandalism. But what did the cryptic message mean? The huge letters spelled out: "Remember Pearl Harbor."
The citizens talked about the writing that winter morning in December, 1939. What did 'Pearl Harbor' mean? They never figured out who painted the words or why. It seemed just a prank or some mindless vandalism, and the incident was forgotten - until the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor on the exact day - two years later."
Shreck noted in his letter that he read about the incident in a book written by Frank Edwards and a second time in a blurb says - "Astounding stories of strange events! All authentic - all absolutely true!"
The Town Clerk shared the interesting letter with the members of the Town Council. They found it fascinating.
So true it was and wouldn't Pedro make a good Coast to Coast AM guest the first hour! He would get the oft told story correct the first time.
Painted on the sidewalk? Chalk letters vandalisim? The chalk letters were prophetic to the place, month and day!
Just coincidence or just a sadly ignored God wink? As penned by SQuire Rushnell a former guest on Coast to Coast AM over four years ago.
