In 2000 the phantom voice of a lady singing christmas carols have been reported to have been heard heard by drinkers and pub staff at the White Horse Inn in Birstall. Also the ghostly figure as been spotted in the back
of the building near to the public toilets which resembles a nun

In a field near to Aldborough, Boroughbridge there are some large
Standing Stones. Local legend says that these large standing stones are said to have been thrown by Old Nick at an old Christian settlement that once stood here. After failing to hit his target, the Devil hanged himself from the largest stone! Locals claim that on some occasions the voice of
Old Nick can be heard cursing himself at missing his aim. |
