Piers Gaveston who was King Edward II’s favourite,
is reported to haunt Scarborough Castle after he was captured here and taken to Kenilworth Castle in staffordshire for execution. Its said that piers gaveston headless ghost is an malevolent one and that it rushes at trespassers who unwisely visit the castle at night. There is also the ghost of a Pink Lady, said to be that of Lydia Bell, who haunts a street where she was murdered in 1804. A black horse is also reported to haunt scarborough since Norman times which appears out of a thundercloud its claimed.
