The Feathers hotel, PocklingtonRoom 7 of the Feathers hotel in Pocklinton is meant to be haunted , it is here that the ghostly sound of someone pulling someone or something heavy down the corridor kept is meant to have kept two guests who had stayed there awake all night , but upon investigating the sound there was no-one in the corridor but the sound continued. Legend has it that a highway man was executed for murder on the gallows that used to stand in what's now the hotels car park and it is his ghost that is reputed to haunt the hotel.
The Feathers is still a functioning hotel, there is a little metallic cat placed just above the entrance door which was said to have been placed there by a previous tenant for good luck ? The inside is of the hotel are said to be magnificent and the antique oak beams in the bar area are said bear witness to how old the building really is .
