i still have a thing about pavement cracks. there is a really horrible pathway i used from home to work with uneven slabs, but i still try not to step on the cracks.

Gosh, i remember that dont' step on the cracks in the path superstition
from my school days back in the 80's (im showing my age now )  .
i never found out WHY , one was not meant to step on a crack for, or what
was meant to happen to you if you did ?  anyone know?

i was always told you would disappear into hell through a pavement crack if you`ve done something wrong and that the slabs are just blocked entrances
its silly now but i still just step on the slabs.

mmmmm  I'll have to try and look it up now and see if i can find
the true meaning. I've heard the meaning numradax gives, but only from the point of view that my mother used to say that " if you stepped on a crack in the path , there could be a risk of you tripping up, and that it would break her back from having to drag you up to hospital if you got hurt or having to get your clothes clean up from the fall ;- the extra work
it would cause?

Maybe so, i've also found something about Bears, step on a crack, and a bear attacks you apparently
