The Station Hotel;- Attercliffe

Built in 1833, this building was originally three two-roomed cottages. The ghost is said to be someone who was knifed to death in one of the cottages before it became a hotel. The landlord reports that glasses of beer ahave been tipped up , footsteps have also been heard upstairs when no ones there. its also reported that one evening customers heard footsteps come down the stairs and saw a door open.
