An UFO is an Unidentified Flying Object.

Since man first started looking up into the skies he saw things he couldn't explain. For the last fifty years or so these things have taken on the label "UFOs." Originally an abbreviation for the Air Force term "Unidentified Flying Object", it has become a synonym to most people for "Alien Spaceship." For the Air Force, though, it is simply a term to refer to something in the skies that the observer can see but not recognize. It is "Something seen in the sky (or on the land, or exceptionally in the water, but thought capable of flight) which the witness could not identify and thought sufficiently strange to report to either an official or unofficial investigating body".

A UFO is the stimulus for a UFO report made by a UFO witness. UFO researchers (often called UFOlogists) study UFO reports and witnesses. UFO researchers cannot directly study UFOs. There are some reports in the literature of different governments recovering craft thought to cause UFO reports, but most of these reports are speculative. The study of UFO reports is referred to as UFOlogy. This implies a scientific basis to the study, when in practice very little scientific research is carried out. After careful investigation about 90% of all UFO reports can be reasonably explained as either natural phenomena or misidentification of normal manmade devices. Sometimes the term IFO is used for these Identified Flying Objects. Those cases which are identified as natural phenomena are often rare or short lived and are worthy of study in their own right.

In the early days of investigation used interchangeably with the term 'Flying Saucer'. More recently the term Flying Saucer has fallen into disuse, although some researchers use it as a term to specifically refer to an extraterrestrial spacecraft.

I entirely believe what you have put there and I have said it on other forums too. My hubby and I believe that the aliens help to build the pyramids in the amazons and eygpts too.

My hubby believe that the atlantis is under one of the poles and he thinks it is the north pole. Remember it was no always the north pole.

Government Admits UFOs do Exist

A report just released by the British Government reveals that Britain, at least, won’t be hanging up the welcome sign for visiting aliens anytime soon or paying serious attention to how they got here unless of course they decided to vote for New Labour. Joking aside whatever’s out there, the defence ministry says, it isn’t alien and this is because as the defence ministry sees it, talk of UFOs and the numerous sightings of unidentified aircraft that have been spotted in British skies over the years are, literally, “Just a load of hot air!”

The “proof” that there is nothing to the notion that UFOs might have come from outer space to buzz around Mother Earth and play peek-a-boo with its inhabitants appears in a highly classified study that was four years in the making and was completed in December 2000. The 400-page report, Unidentified Aerial Phenomena in the U.K. Air Defence Region, “found no evidence that ‘flying saucers’ or unidentified flying objects were anything other than natural phenomena”. It concluded that “meteors and unusual atmospheric conditions could explain UFO sightings such as bright lights in the sky”. They’re not strange aircraft from beyond, just the bewitching effects of gases and light furthermore “no evidence exists to suggest that the phenomena seen are hostile or under any type of control, other than that of natural physical forces....[UFO sightings] are almost certainly attributable to physical, electrical and magnetic phenomena in the atmosphere, mesosphere and ionosphere”. Example: so-called plasma-related fields, which “can adversely affect a vehicle or person”, the study says if experienced in “close proximity”. It notes: “Local fields of this type have been medically proven to cause responses in the temporal lobes of the human brain”.

The report about UFOs had been classified “Secret: U.K. Eyes Only” by defence officials who knew about it. It was so hush-hush that “only a small number of copies were produced, and the identity of the man who wrote it has been protected”. Its existence and some of its conclusions have been made known by David Clarke, an “academic”, as news reports have described him, associated with Sheffield Hallam University in northern England. Clarke had filed a British Freedom of Information Act request to obtain the defence ministry’s report. However this begs the following questions such as why did the Government bother to waste time and effort and tax payers money on this in the first place if they thought there was nothing out there and secondly does anyone really believe Prime minister Tony Blair is going to stand outside number 10 and admit that the Government report concluded they had made contact with aliens. Come to think of it would anyone believe Tony Blair anyway if he said he had found aliens considering recent events?

The Moon Files

It has been alleged that during the Apollo 11 Lunar Mission in 1969, the astronauts actually observed aliens on the surface of the Moon. The evidence for this extraordinary claim is an alleged secret conversation between Apollo 11 astronauts, Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong, and Mission Control. This conversation was, in fact, monitored by a Russian Physicist and Professor of Mathematics, Dr. Vladimir Azhazha, who maintained that the encounter occurred shortly after the lunar module landed. He also stated that the astronauts report was never heard by the public because NASA censored it. But is there any other evidence to substantiate the views of those who believe that there is or has been an “Alien presence” on the Moon? In 1965 a Russian Lunar probe sent back to Earth, images of a strange “structure” towering over the surface of the Moon. It is estimated that the anomalous “tower” is an extremely tall structure - possibly 12 Km. high. Whatever the object is - it remains “unexplained”.

During the Apollo 16 Mission, astronaut Ken Mattingly observed strange bright flashes on the surface of the Moon as he orbited the Moon in the Lunar Orbiter. The “flashes” emanated from the surface of the Moon not lit by the Sun but by “Earth-shine”. Mattingly was heard to remark “I’ll be damned” before he reported his observation to Mission Control. Mattingly was given instructions to report immediately any similar events as he passed through the next orbit and preparations were made to investigate and explain the phenomenon. Sure enough as he passed over the same area of the Moon he observed two bright flashes coming from the surface but despite the fact that scientific instruments had monitored the event, no explanation was forthcoming. However, NASA footage taken during the Apollo Missions does illustrate that “Unknown Objects” were not only seen but were captured on film. In one instance a bright flash is seen on the Moon’s surface just as an unidentified object approaches from the left and passes over. In another instance a large, seemingly circular UFO positioned close to the Moon was caught on film.

Doctor Jack Kasher, of Nebraska University, who has previously worked on highly classified research for NASA and other government agencies, is prepared to risk his reputation by maintaining that there is real evidence of another presence on the Moon. “We really are being visited by Extraterrestrials; we probably have been for some time. I believe that at least some of these UFO reports are genuine. By UFO I mean extraterrestrial space craft. There are enough examples from enough reliable witnesses to suggest that this cries out for investigation”

It has been suggested that the excessive quarantine periods served by the crews of Apollo 11,12 and 14 were due to the fact that the astronauts had to provide detailed reports about the evidence of an alien presence on the Moon and also provide NASA with the time to “vet” any photographs. Is it possible that NASA does not want to reveal to the World that UFOs were closely monitoring the Apollo astronauts? A “conspiracy theory” gone mad? Maybe, but why has NASA not sent astronauts to the Moon since the Apollo Missions and has no intentions of doing so in the foreseeable future? Remember, since the Apollo Missions no U.S. astronauts have travelled into deep space.
