This actually happened, just thought of you MK as it was a good smart arse answer from a lorry driver
A lorry driver was driving along on a country road.
A sign came up that read ' Low Bridge Ahead.'
Before he realised it, the bridge was directly ahead and he got stuck under it.
Cars are backed up for miles.
Finally, a police car comes up.
The policeman got out of his car and walked to the lorry's cab
And said to the driver, 'Got stuck, eh?'
The lorry driver said, 'No, I was delivering this bridge
and ran out of petrol!'

Thanks a million Blackbird! I will tell it to my lorry driver friends after our "All Wars" Memorial Day vacation.
On a serious note about low clearence bridges and viaducts in the US. GPS tracking is huge over here on a lorry driver's dash. The GPS does not know the height of the trailer nor does it have low bridges marked for danger.
"Turn left at the next intersection." A few seconds pass and the GPS voice says, "Your destination is now one mile after the bridge."
Bam! There went another one trying to squeeze a big lorry thru!
Many US city same street names are getting them lost in the suburbs too! _________________ "So if you're tired of the same old story,.......Oh! Turn some pages!" REO Speedwagon from Champaign/Urbana, Illinois, USA.

Now finishing the subject line above,........wine cooler! Is that what they're called. I don't drink. Yeah, wine cooler is a drink ain't it?
That sounds good to eat and not to place scattered on the pc screen Blackbird. We don't have that treat over here kiddo.
I'll catch you off guard again. Better be ready with chewing gum! _________________ "So if you're tired of the same old story,.......Oh! Turn some pages!" REO Speedwagon from Champaign/Urbana, Illinois, USA. |
