Worldwide, truck drivers tell tall tales, and 95% are true. We take most with a grain of salt of which some may be transporting that too. I bought and still own a SCANIA lorry for transporting veneer and high grade lumber logs.

In 1989 I was loaded with Southern Illinois veneer White Oak logs headed to Eastern Virginia to South Hill a 760 mile run. All logs were waxed and tagged IVC with individual consecutive numbers. It was 4:00 am as I pulled into the first rest area out of Tennessee at the North Carolina line. There was one spot left on the end next to a grassy median. Cars on the right,....trucks on the left. I pulled straight in and set the brake on my Swedish truck. One of 600 imported to the USA, and the only one with a "brush guard"-"deer killer" fold down grill guard.

I ate some cakes with milk, and to my amazement I perked up quickly. I noticed a truck coming in with his lights on bright. It stopped to my left, behind me. I said on the CB radio, " I'm ready to leave now you can have my spot." He said nothing so I reversed moving 80,000 lbs 6-8 feet. I stopped like hitting a wall  I'd hit the front of a truck that was mostly blocking the car entrance. I didn'tt see it pull in behind me! I got a sick feeling as I jammed the brakes. The damage was done and I had 1.5 million safe miles.

I got my flashlight and wondered if there was a long log hanging over a bit,... I couldn't remember. There was no overhang, AND there was no damage to the truck I'd just slammed!   I lit it up,....nothing,..the headlights were not busted out ..the radiator should have been in the fan,. ..it shouldn't be running,.. ..it was!   I rubbed my hand over the smooth white metal. I looked for anti-freeze under the motor,....none anywhere! The Caterpiller motor had it's familiar sound. It was in perfect shape. I was stunned beyond belief!

The driver was in the rest area building and never came out. I kept saying to myself, "What do I tell him? I've hit your truck but there's no damage?" To my left a truck left a space open, and I pulled left to park there.

It was breaking dawn as I looked in my left mirror at the white new cabover Freightliner lorry sitting there running. I laid my head down over the wheel to rest,.......to wait. It was gone when I woke up 15 minutes later! I think about this every day and night.

To this day I don't know why I stopped there as I was not tired that bad. I've got another impossible paranormal truckin' tale to tell in time. It happened before this non accident and I thought of that 1974 experience as I stood there in the rest area between the two lorrys. It's here somewhere. LOL

Here it is!! Have a quick read and add a quick comment or question.

So Lionel Fanthorpe from Wales was asked to tell this story by me. His e-mail said he would broadcast this at the first opportunity.

One doesn't go to this much effort in an untrue paranormal telling.

Here in an update twoday 30/3/08. Over 180 people have read a true story that's still a few months or years away from page 2. Lionel may have told this story in England and my goal was to hear him tell it on a late night radio show in the States. Lol.

Things are slow here too.......but I'm in a race for #1 in the view counts.

Madmart? What did you think of this impossible happening credited to my guardian angel?

At 3:37 AM I started wearing out Coast's Wild Card line. First dial brought a ring. 30 rings was wearing me out and it shut down someway. I speed dialed again, again 30 rings before shutting down. Next try I got a busy signal. Next try around 25 rings, and then the Coast male screener loudly said, "What's your name?"

I gave it to him and somehow our wires got crossed and zip he was gone. I had a great cell signal too. I kept up dialing East of the Rockies and the WC line till the show ended.

Ghost hunter Joshua Warren would have been up to snuff on this story, linked to his L.E.M.U.R. Team spot with no posts and 345 views. Lol His answer surely would be different than any others I've recieved so far.

Joshua's web site and my dusty but very true experience.........linked once again.

Night all   & Hello to the 1 Guest online in Worldwide Haunted Locations!

Thanks for reading this weird but very real consious experience of mine!

Wow MK I love reading your experiences.
The 'accident that never happend' to you gave me goose bumps as it reminds me of a time I ran a cat over.

The damn thing ran out in front of me and I felt the wheels go over it.
I got out the car, as did another driver who saw it. I knelt down beside the cat and realised I had killed the poor thing.
I started to get up to knock on some houses and before I had even got to my feet I took one last look down at it and it just vanished!
I asked the man who kindly stopped  where it went and he said he was looking at it, blinked and it had gone!
There was like an impression of a cat in the road that seemed to disappear as we looked at it.  There was no blood, fur or anything on the road or on my car.
The guy knocked at a house and a woman said not to worry, it was the ghost moggy. She thought it was funny that yet another driver had 'hit' it and panicked. I didnt find it amusing at all!

Look forward to reading more of yours MK !

Look forward to reading more of yours Blackbird !

Your great cat ghost story deserves a thread of it's own! Yours was a chill too!

Madmart must be on holiday? Blackbird? He's seen 'em all, my stories I mean. I bet e-mail notices of actions here don't work for him either!

My next post will explain my chances of getting a phone line to tell this story. Mmm! Now let's see, how will I explain it?

On topic early Saturday morning; Just when I changed trailers and with 20 + minutes to call. The Coast host took a break at 3:37, how odd to hear that. I was in and out with my travel papers for the 500 lbs of special grey steel designed to safe lives.

Back at the lorry, it was long winded story time. He told it just like Lionel would have, and it was a dull knifed one. Then to top it all off UFO Phil took the show to the finish line. So better luck next time with another try at this story you have read at page one.

At 2:00 AM as I left TOYOTA an old coal truckin' friend told me we lost his neighbor. We both knew him well. On Thursday his wife must have called the small town's police over a family dispute. Brian 34, met the police chief with a 12 gauge shotgun and a deer slug was shot into the chief's gun and holster. The chief was saved by another off duty policeman who stayed on duty to back up the call. He shot Brian 6 times.

Brian and I ran together alot. His dad was another nearby small river town's assistant police chief. Everything was going well with Brian according to his father.

It sounds like suicide by cop. I thought if I could get in to Coast radio I would dedicate this story to him. He was one of very few drivers I told this tale to. He said I must have been sleeping and dreamed it. Any person would think I dreamed it, just like Brian had said to me.

R.I.P. Coal Miner!  glasses6  angel5  angel7

Also North Carolina's famed ghost tracker Joshua P. Warren's web site L.E.M.U.R. Team dot com has this one. This true story is number two in view counts. Please do your part in getting it back on top. Lol

Thanks for the bumper Blackbird; I'll go look in a bit. It's counts are way behind and growing.

Not number 2, number 1 in time with a little help from my friends. I'm in no hurry. I posted at the # 1 The "old lincoln academy" thread one time. It was way down low. For what it was worth I said something amid all the dust floating there. Ha! Ha! I made it go topside. Oh well! Posts are a rare one there. Too many pc ghosts scare off the members! Ha! Ha!

I tried calling Art Bell with auto redial in the after midnight hour on Saturday morning. No luck with so many calling in their windy chats.

400 views in second place in the "Weird Places To Visit" ghost race. I was around 105 views behind and what you did in a risque trick will be a help. Now if the members and the guests do the same I see #1 in the dusty future at that famed ghost hunter's web site.

There are lots of members but they like ghostly dust it seems.

Coast to Coast AM radio and live on the NET; Ken Klien was way over our heads last night on about Enoch & The Great Pyramid faroah Did not have it built he always says. He relates it way older and to ET, somehow.

He said we all have two or three great paranormal stories to tell. All unexplainable but linked to higher spirits around us all!

He was so right Blackbird!    salute

Edited twoday the 30th. Wednesday's first hour of Coast to Coast AM US radio. Asheville, North Carolina's ghost hunter extroidnare Joshua P. Warren was on about a Scottish castle's staircase with a ghostly hand seen in a pic of the banister. www.joshuapwarren.com  click "News" for a You Tube video scare he had in Louisiana, USA.

The Scottish castle pic is in The Sun tabloid in England and linked here too!

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article1216051.ece

www.coasttocoastam.com  Look for "Past Shows" with his name. Right now it's on the Home page. The link is there for the scare!

Now where was I? Oh yeah! So that night I called the East Coast phone line for a busy signal. I then called The Wild Card line and it rang. The call screener finally opened it and said once again, "What's your name?" I said it and instantly the "on air" converstion came in my cell phone. After 15 seconds, heart rate high too, the line went dead!  I redialed and got it to ring again. After thirty or so rings no one picked it up and they were listening to the last caller.

That's twice the phone has gone dead at TOYOTA with ghost hunter Joshua on the line. The incident above took place just west of Asheville!

If anyone has trouble interpreting what I've placed here. Ask away!

OK whitedove. The risque link decoy has helped bump it up on a ghost hunter's web site that goes "bump in the night" very little.

Keep it up U2, I'm still way behind on the dull as a knife ghost hunter's web site.

I've never seen a spook's web site so drab and sluggish!

Off to Outback and BBLO*.

My one old speeding ticket's trivia:

Country: USA

State: Indiana

Date: April 2004

Highway: Interstate 64

Mile Mark: 105

Speed limit for lorry: 60

My speed by radar: 72

Ticket's cost: $100.00 US dollars

Two months after my speeding fine was paid by mail. Our lorry
transportation company offered $100.00 US dollars as a prize for
participating in a heart health program. The day after the program 29
names were put in a hat. Before coming to work I passed my relatives
graves at their cemetery. Thinking of them all killed tragicly by a
steam locomotive in 1918. I looked at their gravestone 150 feet away
and said aloud, " I will win the $100.00!"

I got to work and asked a friend, "Who won the $100.00?" He said, "You did!"

Back to the night and exact place of the speeding ticket, the 105 mile
marker. Two cows got on the roadway and both were hit and killed. One
by a lorry and one by a car. The two people in the car were killed. The
next day orange paint in the shape of a cow was painted on the
concrete. This was just strange to me. I had picked up a new steak
knife in the highway shoulder's grass to show the state trooper.

Now back to September 6, 1997 at the 105 mile marker. That's where I
thought once more about the Abraham Lincoln and John F. Kennedy
parallels of urban legend fame. I said if the famous presidents had
parallels in life and death.

Princess Diana could have similar parallels waiting to be found. My find from this date 9/6/97 has not made urban legend status, yet.

It's the other way around. I wanted the fine paid back even if the paranormal had to help do it. LOL

The ticket was first and the payment for it came two months later. With some persuasion of course. Just speak to the tombstone and see what happens!      angel2  angel11  director  iroc

This next link is for everyone else Blackbird and xxxMadmart. U2 have contributed replies to date. Hmm! Speaking of tombstones just now, go here folks.

Mark Elvidge the owner of Mysterial has graciously left my true story on his radio. Stories read by robots!

Some of you may have noticed that it is the only story there. I say he is marking time, get it? before posting more stories ahead of my true telling of the paranormal from North Carolina in 1989.

For the Story of the Week SCANIA Hit! go here once more PDQ. He may add more stories told by robots so stay tuned.

I just realized the top story does not sync with the robot. I had used the word truck there. Here I use the name lorry. Plus other changes from the top now ommitted here.........sorry there is no bouncing ball to follow

The little white ball is probably before your time!

Click and read along with the robot. His male voiced story is repeated here so click to the side of the picture in the smaller box to see this post only on your pc screen.

SCANIA Hit! by Mark Elvidge's robot working for free electricity at.....

Buckle your tin hat's chin strap, this is true!

Worldwide lorry drivers tell tall tales, and 95% of them are true. We take most with a grain of salt of which some may be transporting that too. I bought and still own a SCANIA for transporting the best trees Mother Nature can grow.

In 1989 I was loaded with International Veneer Company's Illinois white oak headed for South Hill, Virginia a 760 mile trip. The near perfect logs were individually tagged and waxed. It was 4:00 am as I pulled into the first rest area out of Tennessee at the North Carolina line east of Waterville.

There was one spot left on the end next to a grassy median. Cars on the right and lorries on the left. I pulled straight in and set the brake on my Swedish lorry. One of 600 imported to the USA, and the only one with an aluminum tubing and wire brush guard.

I ate some cakes with milk, and to my amazement I perked up quickly. I noticed a lorry coming in with his lights on bright then stopping to my left behind me. I said on the CB radio, " I'm ready to leave now you can have my spot." He said nothing so I reversed moving 80,000 lbs 6-8 feet. I stopped like hitting a wall!! I'd hit the front of a lorry that was mostly blocking the car entrance. I didn't see it pull in behind me! I got a sick feeling as I jammed the brake. The damage was done and I had 1.5 million safe miles.

I got my flashlight and wondered if there was a long log hanging over a bit. I couldn't remember. There was no overhang, AND there was no damage to the truck I'd just slammed! I lit it up,....nothing,....the radiator should have been in the fan,...it shouldn't be running,....it was! I rubbed my hand over the smooth white metal. I looked for anti-freeze under the motor,....none anywhere! The Caterpiller motor had it's familiar sound. It was in perfect shape and I was stunned!

The driver was in the rest area building and never came out during my wide eyed investigation. I kept saying to myself, "What do I tell him? I've hit your lorry but there's no damage?" To my left a lorry rig left a space open, and I pulled left to park there.

It was breaking dawn as I looked at the white new cabover Freightliner sitting there running. I laid my head down over the wheel to rest,...to wait. It was gone when I woke up 15 minutes later! I still think about this every day and night!

Last Wednesday evening a Toyota parts trucking trip allowed me to pass thru western North Carolina on Interstate 40 East of Waterville, Harmons Den Rd and thru two mountain tunnels. At the 10 mile marker a rest area sign for my sore eyes came into view!

So my non accident was not really that close to the Tennessee State line.

I hoped there would be at least one parking spot for my green and blue Falcon International tractor with it's Wabash National 53 foot trailer. Low and behold there was just one spot left on the West end!

The parking lot was exactly the same to the left of the newer welcome center. Everything else was all re-done including an enlargement for parking. The grounds were landscaped nicely. For me there was an air about the place.

To my amazment there was another rest area across the highway that I did not remember. In 1989 I thought I remembered a rock wall there with chain link fencing placed high to keep rocks from falling on the pavement. I bet it was there at that time and I failed to even notice it after my experience!

Since the Kersey, Pennsylvania veneer log haulers told me to stay in Virginia to get to South Hill. I had not been back that way in twenty years. My memory of the curvy section of I-40 leading to the North Carolina Welcome Center was all fuzzy.

I got an empty bottle of 5 Hour Energy and I knived the soil loose near the grassy curbed median. I filled the bottle with soil right from the spot where I hit the Freightliner.

I was glad to be back there!

I heard part of a great show last night on Coast to Coast AM. Joshua P. Warren was on with George the last hour! C2C had on a lady expert with dreams of premonitions including 9/11 acountings and "Ghost Hunter" Josh for four hours!

What an eye opener for my sore truckin' eyes from 2:10 AM at the welcome center! But wouldn't you know it! I fell asleep in the bunk and missed most of the show!

Here is some soil from that welcome center taken from under the median grass next to where I hit the lorry.

Madmart,

Thanks for the high five on this one that would be hard to make up. Madmart we have three guests so let's mind our manners and give three cheers. Hip, hip,......gotta go to the coal lorry in a few mins.

Great assumptions there but how would a ghost truck driver know that I was going to back up for his trick to  work as well as it did. My friend tells something, err Mark at Mysterial, I could never get in on live radio. The robot is telling this true accounting 24/7. I am exhaulted with that!

Excited with that actually. You have caused a stir here believe you me. The three guests think so too because there have always been guests here reading away nearly 24/7.

My story is not a tale of false writing.

Off to work PDQ so keep going on down the line of topics until I keep you fired up all day with somethings I think you have read already.

Our lorries pic went zip two posts above this. It must have taken up too much bandwidth since it was large.
